TAPS is a peer support group focused on the impacts of and challenges associated with AOD use and its intersection with being a member of the Trans and Gender Diverse community. The group was formed and is run by lived experience facilitators, creating a safe and comfortable space for attendees. TAPS works on a harm reduction framework, meeting folk where they are at and helping them to achieve their own goals around their substance use. TAPS is a drop in space, so people can attend when they like and as often as they would like to. Each meetings content is determined by the people who attend and is always focused on peers supporting each other through their own shared lived experiences.

TAPS runs fortnightly Tuesday from 6pm to 7:30 pm, alternating between Zoom and in-person at Thorne Harbour Health on Hoddle Street, Abbotsford.
I am one of 6 facilitators who run TAPS, in pairs, so attending does not guarantee that I will be facilitating on that occasion. I sometimes attend as a participant when I am not facilitating.

If you would like to attend TAPS you can find out more on the Thorne Harbour Health (THH) website.
You will need to contact THH reception on (03) 9865 6700.
